Re: The last post. There was more to post from DJ Paladrino Conquistadero whose antidote to not revealing playlists was to keep on posting playlists. But he raises a good point… in small towns like Christchurch, New Zealand [to keep it real], what does credibility mean when playlists are up for grabs. The solution—Producer/DJ’s? There needs to be some re-dress in a climate where access to Wiki and Discogs means you know ////fake it//// and the term ‘old school’ is bandied about like it means something… it all amounts to a secondhand feeling… get outta here bitches [to quote a phrase].

Up and coming star Dee Jay Paladrino Conquistadero recently layed down an interesting vibe in the popular underground Zine ‘Pretty Boy DJ Bitch’. Here’s the quote “…there was a time when a DJ’s sets of Edit’s, White Labels, Cassette re-rubs and souped up double-flanged-bangers were highly guarded protected secrets within DJ peer groups and circles. The playlist being the culmination of hours of crate digging in records shops—hours unaccounted for—special one off finds and rarities. The end result was the special mix of music that no-one else could attain because they did not have the unique mix of secrets—which were—the names of the artists and remixes and white labels which required work to find…”
